As part of the Longfellow Bridge project, a new ADA compliant pedestrian bridge will be built to replace the existing narrow and unattractive pedestrian bridge next to the historic bridge. This new link designed by Rosales + Partners will become a new gateway from Beacon Hill to the Charles River Esplanade. The elegant steel arch will complement the architecture of the Longfellow Bridge while also enhancing views of the Charles River and parkland. It is expected that the new pedestrian bridge will be completed by 2016.
