The new Brent Spence Bridge will cross the Ohio River next to downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The new interstate will accommodate multiple lanes for both I-71 and I-75 and will be vital to long-distance state and national commerce. The bridge will be a double deck cable supported structure that will clearly announce the entrance to the city from a distance. The main clear span of the bridge is approximately 1000' (305m) with an exceptional width of approximately 155' (47m). The single tower of the cable stayed bridge will have a height of 500' (152.5m) making it visible from afar and a counterpoint to the high rise buildings in downtown. The new bridge will clearly mark the river crossing from a distance making it an important landmark and a major thoroughfare for local and regional mobility.
